Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To establish sensitivity and specificity of NRS-2002 = 3 plus PA < 5th percentile as compared to SGA B or C as “gold-standard” to diagnose malnutrition. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To compare the performance of classification malnourished vs non-malnourished by NRS-2002 = 3 plus PA < 5th percentile vs new ESPEN criteria. To compare the performance of classification malnourished vs non-malnourished by SGA B or C vs new ESPEN criteria. To analyze the influence of cut-point values of standardized phase angle and NRS 2002 on the diagnostic performance in order to improve diagnostic accuracy. To validate the Pandora Score. To analyze LOS depending on NRS score and/or PA < 5th percentile in combination with Pandora Score and ICD classes based on competing risk methodology. To analyze hospital mortality depending on NRS score and/or PA < 5th percentile in combination with Pandora Score and ICD classes based on competing risk methodology. To analyze hospital readmission depending on NRS score and/or PA < 5th percentile in combination with Pandora Score and ICD classes based on competing risk methodology. To perform additional extensive explorative analyses in order to recover the structure behind the data. In particular, mapping subgroups to ICD-10 categories of malnutrition (E44.0, E44.1 and E43) will be proposed. | — |
