Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Chronic subdural hematomas as confirmed on CT imaging (uni- or bilateral) treated by surgical evacuations either via twist drill craniostomy (TDC), single or double burr hole craniostomy (BHC) or bone flap craniotomy (BFC).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients < 18 years of age, prior causal neurosurgical or other potentially causal cranial procedures, causal intracranial hypotension i.e. shunt overdrainage and spinal dural leaks, acute subdural hematoma with a minor chronic components suggesting an acute hemorrhaging of chronic subdural hematoma membranes as the culprit.
