Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The activity of peripheral unmylinised nerve fibres is measured via microneurography in response to various itchy mediators applied to the skin. The aim is to find out which nerve fibres cause the sensation of ‘itching’ as opposed to the sensation of ‘pain’ and by what type of activity. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The secondary aim is to describe different signalling patterns that encode heat pain versus chemically induced itching. | — |
