Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Use of more than 5 drugs. 2) Regular use of the drugs 3) Written informed consent 4) Written informed consent of staff of family practice

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Insufficient proficiency in German 2) Cognitive and physical impairments that make it impossible to conduct the study 3) Absence or withdrawal of informed consent 4) Absence or withdrawal of informed consent of staff of family practice

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Mean difference of proposed and actually implemented (i.e. perceived as helpful by patients) optimization measures in the intervention group (automated and personalized complexity analysis) compared to the control group (automated complexity analysis without standardized personalization).

- Comparison of identified complexity factors with and without automated analysis in group 3. - Comparison of type and number of complexity factors detected in groups 1, 2 and 3 - Comparison of type and number of complexity factors proposed for intervention in group 1, 2 and 3 - Comparison of type and number of optimization measures proposed and implemented - Evaluation of the relevance of automated-identifiable complexity factors for patients via key questions - Identification of non-automated-identified complexity factors via general key questions - Identification of barriers or facilitating factors in the perception of optimization measures (evaluation of the process) - Identification of factors influencing the selection and perception of optimization measures (e.g. type of optimization measure, number of total optimization measures, group)
