Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - sufficient German language skills - e-mail account and access to the internet - informed consent - caring for a depressed person, who is of age 18 years or older and has a primary diagnosis of unipolar depressive disorder OR primarily depressive symptoms (according to caregiver)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: suffering from any mental disorder themselves

Difference in means in the K-10 questionnaire at the start of the online program (T0) and after finishing the online program four weeks later (T2)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- Difference in means in the K-10 questionnaire at the start of the online program (T0) and at the follow-up time 3 months after randomization (T3) - further outcome measures at T2 and T3 (to be compared to baseline, T0): subjective andobjective psychosocial burden of caregiving (IEQ-EU); subjective symptom burden (SCL-K-9); depression literacy (D-Lit); high expressed emotion aspects critical comments and over-involvement (Familienfragebogen FFB); subjective well-being (WHO-5); depressive symptoms in the depressed relative (PHQ-9)
