Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Treatment for external otitis maligna at Freiburg University Hospital between 2000 and 2020. The presence of otitis externa maligna is defined according to the criteria of Cohen and Friedman (1987).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age under 18 years

Identification of prognostic factors for improvement of the leading symptom in patients* with otitis externa maligna.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
(a) Identification of prognostic factors for the duration of antibiotic infusion therapy. (b) Influence of different therapy options (antibiotic therapy, surgery, HbO therapy) and therapy combinations on the improvement of the leading symptom in patients with otitis externa maligna.
