Inclusion criteria: Clinical and radiological diagnosis of a supracondylar humerus fracture

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: No consent for the study, diagnosis of pathological fracture, diagnosis of other deformities not due to a supracondylar humerus fracture

MeasureTime frame
The Mayo Elbow Performance Score is used to determine and evaluate pain intensity, range of motion (flexion in the humeroulnar joint), stability and functionality in everyday life of the elbow joint. In addition, supplementary standard clinical examination techniques (inspection, range of motion according to the neutral zero method, clinical cubital angle, axial position or axial deviations, examinations of the vascular status (radial and ulnar artery), neurological tests to check sensitivity and motor function (radial, median and ulnar nerve)) are used. X-ray examinations for the study will be explicitly omitted for reasons of radiation hygiene. Since an upper limb injury can also be associated with limitations in lifestyle and quality of life, another part of the study will focus on assessing these. Using the "KINDL questionnaire", both affected children and their parents will be asked about any changes in the social and emotional sphere. This questionnaire is aimed at all child age groups and is therefore available in 3 versions (4-6 years, 7-13 years, 14-17 years). The results of the scores represent the target variable of the study. These are set in relation to a standard healthy elbow joint (opposite side).
