Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Capacity to consent, post-acute and chronic phase, living in the home environment, sufficient knowledge of German.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Severe cognitive impairment, major depression; limitations that pose a significant barrier to the independent use of the telepresence robot and to the participation in the interventions: Severely reduced vision or limited visual field (hemianopsia); severe hypacusis without adequate hearing aid; severe neuropsychological deficits (attention deficits, executive dysfunction, memory deficits, neglect); severe motor action planning disorders (ideomotor or ideatory apraxia), severe limitations in communicative ability and language comprehension; severe motor limitations that prevent independent sitting or transfers.

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome of the intervention study is quality of life, assessed before and after the six-month intervention using the SAQOL-39 (Hilari et al., 2003). The accompagnying research measures quality of life using the SS-QOL-12 (Post et al., 2010). Technology acceptance and willingness to use are investigated by a specially developed questionnaire.

1) Communicative ability in aphasia: Kommunikativ-pragmatisches Screening für Patienten mit Aphasie (KOPS) (Glindemann, Zeller & Ziegler, 2018); subtest "spontaneous speech" from the Bielefelder Aphasie Screening Akut und Reha (BIAS A&R) (Richter & Hielscher-Fastabend, 2018). 2) Communicative ability in dysarthria: KommunikationsParameter für Sprechstörungen (KommPaS) (Lehner & Ziegler, 2019). 3) Functional limitation of the upper extremity: Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) (Fugl-Meyer et al., 1975). 4) Ability to cope with daily living: Barthel Index (Quinn, Langhorn & Scott, 2011). 5) Goal attainment: Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS) (Hale, 2010). 6) Participation: Index to Measure Impairment in Participation (IMET) (Deck et. al, 2011). 7) Frequency of use, training success: Usage data of apps. 8) Technology competence: Previous use of digital technologies. 9) Organizational competencies: Attitudes toward organizational integration of digital technologies into daily routines. 10) Sense of security: Subjective perception of feeling safe. 11) Disease-specific knowledge: Self-assessment of own knowledge on the topic of stroke. Moreover, semi-structured qualitative interviews are conducted with subjects, relatives and other stakeholders.
