Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Fluent in the German language - Age 18 to 65 years - For Patients: Chronic motor tic disorder (F95.1) or chronic motor and vocal tic disorder (F95.2) as main diagnosis according to the International Classification of Diseases 10 (ICD 10)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Active suicidal or homicidal ideation within last 6 months - Current psychotic symptomatology - Active or recent substance abuse (except intake of cannabis-based substances, if consumed for treatment of tics and if they are paused 72 hours before the experiment) - Serious systemic medical disease that requires treatment - Clinically relevant neurological disorder of the central nervous system such as stroke, epilepsy, neoplasia - Mental retardation or other unstable psychiatric disorder that requires treatment - Active medication with benzodiazepine that cannot be paused for 72 hours - Withdrawal of consent

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1) Modulation in the theta (4-8 Hz) and beta (15-30 Hz) frequency band will be investigated in cortical areas (DLPFC, ACC, PCC) for the effect of voluntary tic suppression.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1) Modulation in the theta (4-8 Hz) and beta (15-30 Hz) frequency bands will be examined in cortical areas (SMA, M1, Insula) for a relationship with urge sensation. 2) Differences in theta (4-8 Hz) and beta (15-30 Hz) frequency bands will be shown between blinks and blink tics primarily in areas of sensorimotor integration (SMA, insula). 3) Modulation of EEG signal during motor prediction task between patients and healthy controls will be expect in ACC.
