| Since the study is based on a qualitative design, the outcomes consist of inductively and deductively developed categories and themes representing and explaining the participants' perspectives. The variables (especially sociodemographic data) are only used for the sample's description as well as to sort and compare the qualitative results. Due to the open questions, the outcome can not be defined clearly prior to the data collection. In general, the answers should provide an insight into the perspectives and relevance systems of the participants regarding their work with patients aged 80 and over. It will probably be possible to describe the older patient population from the perspective of physicians and to derive wishes and policies for improvement as well as practice recommendations. | — |
