| The questions to be examined: Do children who are fitted with a cochlear implant (CI) deviate from the normalization of hearing-healthy children in their hearing and speech development profile, even if they are fitted with a CI as early as possible. Children who have been fitted with a CI approach the hearing and speech development profile of hearing-healthy children over the course of their development. The earlier (age) the hearing-impaired children are fitted with a CI, the more the hearing and speech development profile resembles that of hearing-healthy children. | — |
