Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • consent to participate in study (informed consent) • internet access • sufficient command of the German language • willingness to participate in two anonymous online surveys, each of which lasts approx. 25-30 minutes • willingness to participate in a 6-week training program • willingness to use the program on one's own responsibility • willingness to provide an e-mail address

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • lifetime schizophrenia • acute suicidal tendencies

• Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9): Self-rating questionnaire measuring depressive symptoms during the past week (at baseline- and post-assessment). • Self-devised questionnaire asking for the differential efficacy of the three techniques conveyed (post only, only administered in those using the techniques). • Quality of life (WHO-QOL-BREF): Global score of the self-assessment questionnaire; this measures the quality of life in the last two weeks (at baseline- and post-assessment). • Questionnaire on patient satisfaction in modified version (ZUF-8): Self-report questionnaire that measures the global patient satisfaction at the end of treatment (at post-assessment). • Milwaukee Inventory for Subtypes of Trichotillomania-Adult Version (MIST-A): Self-report questionnaire that measures "automatic pulling" vs. "focused pulling” behaviour • Questionnaire for the Assessment of Maladaptive and Adaptive Coping Styles (MAX) • Impulsive Behavior Scale-8 (I-8): Short scale for measuring impulsivity according to the UPPS approach • Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale - German (FMPS-D; scale "Personal Standards"): Assessment of functional and dysfunctional aspects of perfectionism • Distress Intolerance Scale (selection of some items): Assessment of distress intolerance as a subjective problem in experiencing and dealing with feelings of stress and tension • University of Rhode Island Change Assessment Scale (URICA): instrument for assessing motivation for therapy
