Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Project 1: Detection of pathologic vertebral and/or extravertebral fractures by DXA and QCT. Retrospective recording of pathologic fractures from radiologic imaging or documentation, and retrospective evaluation of bone mineral density measurement methods. Project 2: Follow-up assessment of trabecular bone mineral density under specific osteoporosis therapy. Retrospective recording of therapy sequences from documentation, retrospective evaluation and prospective follow-up evaluation of QCT.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Project 1: Correlations of the methods of bone densitometry DXA and QCT with age, and of the methods with each other. Trend of cortical bone densitometry in prevalent pathological fractures. For this purpose, retrospective evaluations of the measurement methods will be performed, and the presence of pathological fractures will be recorded from the documentation. Project 2: Investigation of the influence of gender, age, hypovitaminosis D, glucocorticoids on the course of bone mineral density under specific medication by means of QCT. For this purpose, retrospective documentation will be reviewed, and retrospective and prospective QCT will be evaluated.
