Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All children and staff members of the included daycare group are invited to participate voluntarily.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children who do not have a declaration of consent from their legal guardians are excluded, as are children for whom it is not possible to take a swab sample from the mouth or anus due to an existing illness, or if the child refuses the examination. Employees whose declaration of consent is not available are excluded.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Semiquantitative viral load (Ct value) of SARS-CoV-2 in a pool of buccal and anal swabs ("dual swab") is determined by RT-PCR 1x weekly for 4 weeks.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
At the end of the study, questionnaires will be administered to study participants or their guardians, primarily to determine whether SARS-CoV-2 infections were known to have occurred in study participants during or in the four weeks prior to study entry.
