Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Nutrient status is assessed by blood and urine analyses (folate, vitamin B12, iron, iodine). Intake of food, energy and nutrients is collected on three consecutive days at the beginning and end of pregnancy via food record. For this purpose, all foods and beverages consumed on these days must be weighed and recorded. Energy and nutrient content of the foods and drinks are taken from the BLS and the LEBTAB database. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Anthropometry of the mother (weight history during pregnancy, height and weight as well as blood pressure in the examination centre) as well as anthropometry and clinical condition of the child (birth weight, size, head circumference, Apgar score) of the child are recorded via pragnancy record. | — |
