Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Individuals with chronic aphasia (6 months postonset), regardless of the severity of the language disorder. Max. first signs of depression should be present (corresponds to a score = 8 in the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS, Sheikh & Yesavage, 1986), because the measure is preventive. Participants must have a smartphone with internet access. Vision with compensation should be sufficient for smartphone use.

| The primary outcome will be the quality of life of the patients from t0 to t1. t1 will take place after a 3-months intervention phase. The test procedure used is the Stroke and Aphasia Quality of Life Scale-39 (SAQOL-39; Hilari et al., 2003). The follow-up-survey (t2) will take place after a 3-months intervention-free phase. The stability of the effects will be evaluated by comparing t1 to t2. | — |

| The following measurement methods are used for the secondary outcome: The Social Support Questionnaire (F-SozU, Fydrich et al., 2007), which is available in a short form with 14 items and can therefore be carried out with aphasia. This examines the perceived support from the social environment and satisfaction. Communicative participation is assessed using the Communicative Participation Item Bank (CPIB; Baylor et al., 2013). Furthermore, the perspective of one randomly selected participant per cluster on app use, changes in the social network and possible potential for improvement is recorded directly after the intervention and at the time of the follow-up survey with semi-standardized interviews. The protocol compliance of the workshops is controlled by checklists. The background statistics of the app are used to record usage duration and frequency, number of messages and activities per user and in the various app areas. In this way, user behavior with different degrees of aphasia severity or the regional distribution of activities can be analyzed. | — |
