Group 1: Randomized allocation of sterilized bovine enamel specimens (n = 2 each) worn in dental splints for the sip-wise intake of following beverages in a randomized order. Arm 1: 100 ml Orange Juic

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Systemically healthy adults aged = 18 years - Physiological saliva flow rates (stimulated: >1 ml/min, unstimulated: >0.25 ml/min) - Good oral health (no obvious cavities or significant gingivitis/periodontitis)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - General/systemic illness - Known allergy against any of the applied beverages

MeasureTime frame
Sip-wise intake (drinking) of following widely available beverages (the sequence of the intake of beverages will be randomized): 1) 100 ml Orange Juice at 5 °C within 1 minute 2) 100 ml Orange Juice at 21 °C within 1 minute 3) 100 ml Coca Cola Zero at 5 °C within 1 minute 4) 100 ml Coca Cola Zero at 21 °C within 1 minute 5) 100 ml Sprite Zero at 5 °C within 1 minute 6) 100 ml Sprite Zero at 21 °C within 1 minute 7) 150 ml Twinings Fruit tea at 21 °C within 2 minutes 8) 150 ml Twinings Fruit tea at 55 °C within 2 minutes. Thereafter assessment of erosive enamel softening as determined by surface microhardness measurements of the enamel specimens.
