Conditions

Healthy Participants, Validity of the Bunkie test via EMG-measurement of the muscle activity

Interventions

Group 1: Healthy participants are tested in one session. They will perform the original version and a standardized version of the Bunkie test while muscle activity is measured via EMG.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: We include healthy men and women between 18 and 30 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants are excluded if they suffer from current musculoskeletal pain in the shoulder girdle, elbows, back, lower extremity or from other nonspecific musculoskeletal disorders, e.g. fibromyalgia. There must not be any history of surgery in the back or legs and no other orthopaedic injury of the back or the lower extremity in the last twelve months. In addition, participants are excluded if they are pregnant, in the nursing period, diagnosed with any psychiatric, endocrine, neurological as well as metabolic disorder or take medication that affects perception or proprioception.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
- Bunkie test performance (in seconds) in a standardized- and the original version (one measurement, randomized order) - Muscle activity (EMG): Measured during the two versions of the Bunkie test

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- subjektive level of exhaustion (BORG) - subjective rating of the location with the highest muscle exertion (NRS)
