Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients undergoing cardiovascular interventions in the cardiology department.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - patient wish - contraindication concerning auricular acupuncture (e.g. wounds or infections in the region of the „relaxation-points“) - contraindications concerning aromatherapy (e.g. allergies) - states that make independent and reliable answering of the questions unlikely (e.g. dementia)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Assessment of state anxiety (primary outcome measure), using the Spielberger State Anxiety Inventory for Adults form Y6 (STAI) by use of a questionnaire before and at 30 Minutes after therapy.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Intervention-specific anxiety was assessed by a 10-point numerical rating scale. Assessment of clinical blood pressure before and at 30 Minutes after therapy.
