Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients (from the age of 18). Inpatient admission to Halle University Hospital in the period from 01.01.2000 to 31.12.2020. Inpatient admission to the Department of Internal Medicine (DIM) due to a serious infection (ICD code see above) defined as a potentially life-threatening infection with the need for antibiotic therapy and inpatient admission. In addition, a confirmed diagnosis of the above rheumatic diseases or above degenerative diseases.
