Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Primary: Comparison of contamination rates between the washed cohort (wash lotion + wash gloves, intervention group) and unwashed cohort (control group) to answer the question: Does the use of an antiseptic wash lotion and wash gloves reduce the intraoperative germ load? Patients receive the wash lotion and wash gloves 3 days preoperatively. We take samples of the irrigation fluid every 15 minutes during the course of the operation and samples of the suture material at the end of the operation. We send these to the Labor Berlin for microbiological analysis. The analysis takes place after 14 days of incubation. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Secondary: Comparison of infection rates between the washed and unwashed cohort - Can the use of antiseptic wash lotion and wash gloves prevent infections after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction? For this purpose, follow-up examinations of the patients are carried out 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year postoperatively. | — |
