Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Women and men (> 65 years) with mild AD (MMST = 20) - Women and men (> 65 years) with MCI and a pathological CSF profile (Aß1-42 decreased, tau protein increased) - Women and men (> 65 years) as healthy control subjects (MMST> 27) - Obtained consent and information ability - Willingness to take swabs of the oral mucosa and gums
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Acute infections of the upper respiratory tract - Known acute inflammations in the oral cavity (e.g. stomatitis) - Serious physical illnesses with impairment of the general condition, fever or current weight loss of more than 2 kg in the past four weeks, palliative life situation - Malnutrition (body mass index below 18.5 kg / m2) - Other neurological diseases (stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease) or severe psychiatric comorbidities such as an addiction disorder or schizophrenic psychosis - Potentially reversible causes of cognitive deficits (e.g. vitamin B12 deficiency)
