Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: suspected familial hypercholesterolemia, LDL-cholesterol > 130mg/dL

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • acute infectious disease • other illnesses that are accompanied by chronic inflammation and/or increased cardiovascular risk (e.g. Diabetes mellitus, chronic inflammatory bowel disease) • secondary hypercholesterolemia (e.g. due to chronic kidney disease)
