Conditions

The aim is to analyse circadian oscillations of the oral microbiome, including F. nucleatum, and the effects of oral hygiene measures on the oral microbiome composition over time.

Group 1: After an initial “wash-in” phase, biological material will be collected from the oral cavity during two separate time blocks. In the initial phase (day 0-4), subjects are asked to brush their

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Persons who have understood the informed consent and signed the written consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Rejection by the study participant - Pregnancy or nursing mothers - Lack of ability to consent - Persons who are currently taking or have taken antibiotics in the last 3 weeks - Infections of the oral mucosa, respiratory tract and GI tract in the last three weeks - Test persons with tumor diseases, or chronic inflammatory intestinal diseases - Subjects who are not able to fully consume diets orally - Underweight or obesity - Persons who received dentures or dental implants during the last 8 weeks - Dental treatments in the last 3 weeks

Exploratory, longitudinal assessment of the diurnal variation of the relative abundance of Fusobacterium nucleatum as a member of the oral microbiota in a cohort of healthy volunteers with and without oral and dental hygiene.
