Group 1: Data collection of patients with a periprosthetic joint infection treated between January 2008 and December 2018 in the University Hospital for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery Pius-Hospital.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with an acute periprosthetic joint infection (hip or knee) between 2008-2018 2. Treated with surgical debridement, antibiotics and implant retention (DAIR)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Culture negative periprostetic joint infections (negative intraoperative cultures during DAIR) 2. A follow-up of less than 2 years.
