Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with acute pancreatitis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: symptoms started > 72 hours before admission, analgosedation, intubation or therapy with vasopressors at admission or referral, pregnancy

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary objective of this study is to analyze the potential of the qSOFA score to predict severity, need for intensive care treatment, development of MODS and mortality in patients with acute pancreatitis. qSOFA is routinely calculated for every patient when presenting to the emergency department

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary objective is the comparison of the prognostic potential of qSOFA to established scores including Ranson-, BISAP- and SOFA score as well as laboratory markers including C-reactive protein (CRP), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and hematocrit. Tertiary objective is the evaluation of a combination of rapidly available established prognostic parameters with the qSOFA score and if required validation in a retrospective patient cohort.
