Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Newborns with a gestational age at birth > 23+6 weeks SSW - 32+6 weeks Birth in the delivery room of the University Hospital Cologne Sectio caesaria as birth mode Maternal general anesthesia with thiopental within the context of the Sectio caesaria

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Vaginal birth Severe basic congenital disease or malformations Monochorial Geminigravidity Multiple pregnancy with 3 children or more

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To analyze the levels of thiopental in the umbilical cord and fetal blood of preterm infants < 32+6 weeks of gestational age with regard to the umbilical cord management: a) immediate cord clamping or b) extrauterine placental transfusion with comperative data from the literature.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Analysis of the effect of thiopental dose on the clinical outcome of the infants, especially with regard to the postnatal adaptation (APGAR score), the need for machine ventilation, muscular hypotony and vigilance
