Group 1: Arm 1: patients with a posterior tooth gap receive an adhesive two unit fixed dental prosthesis, the neighboring tooth is prepared in a minimally invasive manner followed by a digital impress

18 Years to 90 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - tooth gap size of a premolar with loss of a premolar / molar and an adjacent intact first molar / premolar - adjacent teeth caries-free / maximally mesially / occlusally / distally filled - Cusps of the abutment teeth intact - API <35% - Contralateral fixed dentures - Closed row of teeth in the opposite jaw (antagonist present) - Sufficient dentures in the remaining dentition - Periodontally healthy adjacent teeth with at least 2/3 bone level, pocket depth = 4mm, degree of loosening = 1

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Apical radiolucency of the adjacent tooth - periodontitis - pregnancy - Root canal treated at adjacent tooth - Large buccal and oral fillings on the abutment tooth - Bruxoff index> 2 - Parafunction - drug consumption

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Follow-up examination after 1, 3 and 5 years, Long term probation (Kaplan Meier), technical and biological complication, patient satisfaction (OHIP)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The following findings are made: • Gingiva index (SL) • Plaque index • Pocket Probing depth • Bleeding on probing (BOP) at four locations on the abutment teeth • Periotest
