Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Orthodontic Herbst appliance treatment as well as subsequent multibracket appliance treatment after the growth period, treatment completed at least 15 years ago

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Failure of inclusion criteria, incomplete treatment records

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Overjet increase during the post-treatment period; changes >1,5mm are to be considered as clinically relevant (measurements performed on orthodontic study casts)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Increase of overbite as well as sagittal molar and canine relationship (assessment performed on orthodontic study casts) Facial profile changes (assessment using extraoral photographs) Overall orthodontic diagnosis (PAR-Index) using orthodontic study casts General oral health and temporomandibular joint function as well as current orthodontic treatment need by means of clinical inspection and examination Oral health related quality of life using a questionnaire (OHIP-G14)
