Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All ACL patients must receive the same surgical repair with a quadriceps tendon graft to be included in the project. In addition, a healthy control group without prior knee pathologies will be included in the project. General inclusion criteria are: - Age between 18 and 50 years - Physically active before the injury (2x 45 minutes per week) (Booth & Lees, 2006) - Clinically confirmed ACL rupture/reconstruction or no previous knee pathology

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Previous knee pathology before ACL rupture; injuries of the lower extremity; musculoskeletal diseases; cardiac, neurological or peripheral vascular diseases

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome angle reproduction: neuromuscular activity normalized to gait activity during angular reproduction - Pre-activation - Start of movement to target angle - Activity at target angle - From the target angle to the end point of the movement. Cortical activity in the frontal, central and parietal cortex regions with focus on the following specific frequencies: - theta (4.75-6.75 Hz) - Alpha-1 (7-9.5 Hz) - Alpha-2 (9.75-12.5 Hz). Primary outcome during stair climbing (up/down): Neuromuscular activity normalized for gait activity during angular reproduction divided into the gait phases: - pre-activation - weight acceptance - push off.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Deviation between the target angle and executed angle and movement duration during the angle reproduction test. Jumping distance in meter during the one-leg jumps.
