Conditions

The study does not examine diseases, but rather the process of returning to work in the context of Gradual Return to Work. Employees who return to work after a long period of sickness can have a variety of illnesses. No illness is excluded. Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All study participants have to show sufficient German language skills to understand the questions and be able to answer them adequately. In addition, different inclusion criteria apply to the different target groups of the study, which are listed below. 1. Interviews: 1.1 Interviews with returning employees who a) are employed subject to social insurance contributions at the time of enrolment (full-time, part-time, if limited, then still at least 6 months of contract, not limited) and b) have the consent of all responsible parties to carry out a GRTW program at the time of enrolment. 1.2 Interviews with case-associated accompanying persons who a) have accompanied the GRTW of the returning employees (in 1.1) in the same company and b) have been released from their duty of confidentiality by them. 2. Group discussions: 2.1 Group discussions in companies with I. returning employees who have returned to work via a GRTW program and II. with organisational actors who have experience in initiating, preparing, implementing or accompanying GRTW. 2.2 Group discussions with supra-organisational actors who have experience in initiating, preparing, implementing or accompanying GRTW either a) at the strategic-conceptual level or b) at the medical-therapeutic level.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Study participants with serious neurological limitations, such as disorders of vigilance or speech comprehension disorders will be excluded. In addition, different exclusion criteria apply to the different target groups of the study, which are listed below. 1. Interviews: Excluded are returning employees who a) do not intend to return to their previous job (but rather, for example, change jobs or take early retirement) or b) are unemployed or work as mini-jobbers. 2. Group discussions: Excluded are returned workers who a) have completed their GRTW program in another company or b) whose GRTW program took place more than 3 years ago.

MeasureTime frame
The planned study aims to describe or reconstruct the conditions for the success of GRTW in multiple perspectives using the explicit or implicit expertise, action and experience of the various stakeholders involved in order to contribute to optimising the quality of GRTW's processes and results. The primary objective criterion is the conditions of success of a sustainable GRTW, recorded longitudinally from the perspective of the returning employees.

Secondary outcome are the conditions for access and success of a sustainable GRTW from the point of view of organisational and supra-organisational stakeholders.
