Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Families with at least one child or adolescent between 3 and 17 years with overweight (body Mass Index >90. percentile) or obesity (body Mass Index > 97. percentile) - In the public health insurance and part of the “HzV contract” of the health insurance company AOK Baden-Württemberg (pediatric module) - adequate knowledge of the German language
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - prior participation in a interdisciplinary obesity training for the duration of one year or more - participation in a child rehabilitation or inpatient treatment for weight loss within the past year - severe other systemic disease of the child/adolescent - severe other psycho-social stress or disease of the child/adolescent which is not associated with overweight/adiposity (e.g. treatment of a schizophrenic disorder (ICD F2) with appetite-enhancing medication such as neuroleptic drugs)

| somatic parameters of comorbidities of obesity measured in physical examinations by the pediatrician at all main measurement time-points (e.g. cardiovascular diseases, development of puberty, skin diseases, bone and joint problems, respiratory problems, liver diseases, blood levels). Questionnaires about lifestyle and psychosocial parameters at all main measurement time-points: eating behavior (DEBQ-K, FFQ), physical activity (Momo-AFB, BSA-F), self-concordance of sport- and exercise-related goals (SSK-scale), physical activity enjoyment (PACES), exercise- and sport-related motives (BMZI), exercise-related support by family (SU-F) and friends (SU-B), use of media and sleep (adapted from the KiGGS study), readiness to change (URICA-S/PURICA-S), eating disorder examination (EDE-Q8/ChEDE-Q8), family functioning (SCORE-15), perceived stress (PSQ-20), family climate and joint activities (items from the i.Family study), strengths and difficulties (SDQ-Deu-S), body image (scales from the EDI-2 and IEG-K), health economics evaluation (MRV), process evaluation (quantitative and qualitative). | — |
