Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Patient age = 18 years - no palliative medical treatment by a consiliary And presence of at least one of the following trigger factors: - Length of stay = 30 days in intensive care unit - Age 80 years or older and two or more relevant comorbidities - Admission (more than twice) to intensive care unit during same hospital stay - Performing a tracheotomy - Diagnosis of intracerebral hemorrhage with mechanical ventilation
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Patient age < 18 years - Length of stay < 72 hours in the intensive care unit - Palliative consultation before study enrolment
