Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Male gender - Age: 18-40 years - BMI: 18.9-29.9 kg/m² - No evidence of cardiovascular diseases in the medical history - No acute or chronic injuries of the lower extremities (especially no pre-existing achillodynia) - No previous sporting activity of > 60-120min/week - no contraindications against physical exertion according to ACSM guidelines - no intake of performance-enhancing supplementary nutrition (e.g. creatine monohydrate)

Primary

Change in patellar tendon cross-sectional area

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
All secondary endpoints are collected before and after the 14-week intervention. The mechanical properties of the patellar tendon are measured by synchronizing ultrasonic, force and goniometer data. In addition, the Achilles tendon cross section and muscle cross section are determined by MRI and collagen synthesis markers in the blood are measured. The muscle strength is measured by means of isometric maximum force measurement.
