Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Periprosthetic joint infection of the knee or hip

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: HIV Hepatitis C, Osteoporosis, No proven periprosthetic joint infection

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
In this study, inflammatory markers in bone and bone marrow are evaluated for elevation in patients with periprosthetic infection compared to the control group.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
In a secondary analysis, markers relevant for bone metabolism are examined in the obtained samples. In addition, a morphological evaluation of the effect on bone metabolism is performed by micro-CT examinations.
