Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Evidence of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage using computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or lumbar puncture and an imaging method to detect the aneurysm, i.e. digital subtraction angiography (DSA), CT or MRI angiography 2) Secure of the aneurysm using endovascular or microsurgical procedures 3) Written informed consent to the study or written informed consent from an authorized representative

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Existing surgical wounds or drainage that are incompatible with the headphone or TCD probe 2) Hypacusis or anacusis 3) pregnancy of the patient 4) Participation in an intervention study within the past 30 days 5) Any other reasons that preclude study participation from the study director's perspective

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Change in the cerebral flow velocities of the blood in the cerebral artery using TCD with continuous ICP measurement while playing classical music in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1) Change of physiological parameters, in example blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, intracranial pressure (if measured), in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage 2) Effect of classical music on the rate of Delayed Cerebral Ischemia (DCI) 3) Influence of existing analgesia on the primary endpoint or secondary endpoints 1 and 2. 4) Effect of classical music on the neurological outcome upon discharge, determined after 3 or 6 months by the Extended Glasgow Outcome Scale 5) Effects of classical music on selected psychological parameters, measured using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale method - German version (Snaith & Zigmond, 2010)
