Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The aim of the study is to find out whether people who suffer from obesity have difficulties in empathizing with others or have deficits in terms of mentalization skills. In order to be able to interpret the results, the records of the subjects are evaluated by two trained raters (Prof. Kölkebeck and the doctoral candidate) using a rating sheet. The length (0-4), the intentionality (0-5) and the appropriateness (0-2) are rated with numbers from 0 to 2/4/5 | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| If the results of the study show that obese patients actually have difficulty empathizing with others, the long-term goal is to develop better methods of examination and treatment of obesity, specifically with regard to psychotherapeutic methods. | — |
