Group 1: eccentric training of the elbow flexors (8 x 10 repetitions, 80 % of the eccentric 1RM) Group 2: concentric training of the elbow flexors (8 x 10 repetitions, 80 % of the concentric 1RM)

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - consent of voluntary participation - age between 18 and 40 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - participation in eccentric upper arm resistance training during the last six months - severe orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurological, endocrine or psychiatric diseases - acute inflammation, acute or not completely healed injuries - intake of anti-inflammatory medicine or supplements that modify pain perception and proprioception - DOMS of the upper limb prior to the initial investigation day - severe pain or instability or surgery of the upper limb

measurement before and immediately after the intervention as well as 1, 2, 3 and 4 days after the intervention: Fascia thickness fascial sliding maximal voluntary isometric contraction force (Newton) measurement before and 1, 2, 3 and 4 days after the intervention: subjective pain intensity during palpation (visual analogue scale) mechanical pressure pain threshold (algometer)
