Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Data: - Individuals with a clinical diagnosis of type 1 diabetes - Individuals without any metabolic disease - CPX test including the following parameters: protocol, vt1, vt2, max, heart rate, VE, VO2, VCO2, BMI, age, diabetes duration (if applicable), hba1c (if applicable).

Exclusion criteria: Data: - No cardio-pulmonary exercise test conducted - If specific parameters were missing such as: protocol, vt1, vt2, max, heart rate, VE, VO2, VCO2, BMI, age, diabetes duration (if applicable), Hba1c (if applicable)

MeasureTime frame
To investigate the relative oxygen consumption over the course of a cardio-pulmonary exercise test (VT1, VT2, peak) in individuals with type 1 diabetes compared against non-diabetic individuals.

Secondary

• To investigate the heart rate (bpm) over the course of a cardio-pulmonary exercise test (VT1, VT2, peak) in individuals with type 1 diabetes compared against healthy individuals • To investigate the power (W) over the course of a cardio-pulmonary exercise test (VT1, VT2, peak) in individuals with type 1 diabetes compared against healthy individuals • To compare heart rate to performance curves (kHR) during cardio-pulmonary exercise tests in individuals with type 1 diabetes against healthy individuals • To find associations of specific anthropometric (age, BMI, gender) and diabetes specific characteristics (c-peptide level, HbA1c, diabetes duration, total daily insulin dose) influencing maximum and submaximal physiological responses during cardio-pulmonary exercise testing in individuals with type 1 diabetes • To find association of specific anthropometric (age, BMI, gender) influencing maximum and submaximal physiological responses during cardio-pulmonary exercise testing in healthy individuals
