Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with rhegmatogenous macula-on retinal detachment and silicone oil endotamponade

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with rhegmatogenous macula-off retinal detachment and silicone oil endotamponade. Patients with macular diseases, retinal vascular diseases, glaucoma, uveitis, amblyopia.

Retrospective arm: Frequency of vision loss in eyes with macula-on rhegmatogenous retinal detachment treated with vitrectomy and silicone oil tamponade. Prospective arm: Incidence of vision loss in eyes with macula-on rhegmatogenous retinal detachment treated with vitrectomy and silicone oil tamponade.	—

Retrospective arm: Imaging techniques, e.g. OCT measurements of the macula and functional examinations were carried out in order to identify possible causes for vision loss.
