Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - A fixed bridge in the posterior region consisting of three to four units - One or two missing teeth with a gap not smaller than 12 mm and not larger than 19 mm - Only FPDs with end abutments - Abutment teeth without apical periodontitis for the past 6 months - Abutment teeth were vital or endodontically treated (sealed root filling up to the apical area) - No periodontal disease (probing depth </ = 4 mm, no bleeding during probing, no signs of active bone resorption, no furcation involvement of grade 2 or 3, no mobility) - Over 18 years with no severe medical or psychologic diseases - Moderate or good oral hygiene (<25% marginal plaque, sulcus bleeding index <70%) and no active caries lesions - 65 years
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Patients with a general health impairment that makes restorative treatment impossible - severe occlusal wear - parafunctional activities - lacking of oral hygiene
