Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Change in muscle mass or the ratio of fat to muscle mass after 12 weeks of ingestion of 15 grams of collagen peptides compared to a placebo (DEXA and BIA)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The following parameters are measured before and after the 12-week intervention: - hand force (hand dynamometer) - isometric strength and rate of force development (RFD) of the legs (leg press) - fat mass (DEXA and BIA) - postural control (SPPB test and Posturomed) - parameters of the metabolic risk profile (abdominal girth, triglycerides, blood pressure, glucose, HbA1c, HDL-, LDL- and total cholesterol)
