Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Consenting adults (age 18-85 years) in good general condition - Magnification requirement for the better eye: 2x and 12x - central scotoma (e.g. age-related macular degeneration, hereditary macular dystrophy) - German as mother tongue
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - peripheral visual field defects (e.g. due to glaucoma, optic nerve disease or retinal vascular disease) - mental disabilities that make reading intellectually difficult - persons with pre-existing reading disorder, e.g. dyslexia
