Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The aim of the study is to investigate whether the frequency of symptoms of intrusive re-experiencing with regard to the worst socially threatening situation is positively related to the intensity of social anxiety. Furthermore, it will be investigated whether the frequency of these symptoms of intrusive re-experience is positively related to the intensity of post-event processing after the early socially threatening experience. Hypotheses: The frequency of symptoms of intrusive re-experiencing after an early socially threatening experience is positively correlated with the intensity of current social anxiety. The frequency of symptoms of intrusive re-experience is positively correlated with the intensity of post-event processing after the early socially threatening experience.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Furthermore, it will be investigated whether negative sociophobic beliefs and the intensity of post-traumatic memory characteristics (intrusive re-experience, as well as disorganisation) of the worst socially threatening memory partially mediate the relationship between post-event processing and the frequency of symptoms of intrusive re-experiencing with regard to early socially threatening memory. Hypothesis: The positive correlation between post-event processing and the frequency of symptoms of intrusive re-experience is partially mediated by (1) negative basic beliefs and (2) the intensity of intrusive re-experience / disorganization of memory.
