Group 1: The study population is derived from patients who have undergone tonsillectomy surgery within the last ten years (restrospective examination).

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Tonsillectomy at the University Hospital Freiburg between 2009 and 2019.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Excluded are patients who have received their tonsillectomies due to tumor diseases.

| Comparison of the occurrence of postoperative bleeding after tonsillectomy with regard to the sex of the patients, with regard to the age of the patients, with regard to the time after operation (postoperative day) of the patients, with regard to the length of the inpatient stay, with regard to the experience of the surgeon and with regard to secondary diseases of the patients, such as blood coagulation disorders. Comparison between planned tonsillectomies in the infection-free interval and tonsillectomies in acute inflammation (in peritonsillar abscess, tonsillectomy a chaud).
