Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: People with chronic aphasia (6 months postonset). People with only moderate language understanding impairment (at least percentile rank 44 in the subtest speech comprehension of the Aachener Aphasie Tests, Huber et al., 1983)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: People with manifest depression, operationalized with the value = 8 in the Geriatric Depression Scale (Sheikh & Yesavage, 1986). Persons with additional other psychiatric-neurological diseases that influence the quality of life (especially severe depressive episodes, incipient dementia according to doctor's opinion) are also excluded.

| Primary outcome is the measurement of the quality of life of people in the intervention group after a 12-week intervention phase (t0, t1). Measurement tool is the stroke and aphasia quality of life scale-39 (Hilari et al., 2003). The stability of the effects is evaluated by comparing t1 to t2. t2 takes place in a follow up measurement 3-month after the intervention. | — |

| Secondary outcomes are communicative skills, measured by the scenario test (Nobis-Bosch et al., 2019) and cognitive life satisfaction measured by the Satisfaction with Life Scale (Diener et al. 1985). Secondary outcomes are measured at all three measurement points t0, t1 and t2. In addition, the use of digital-based diagnostics which will be developed in the project is planned. | — |
