Interventions
Group 1: The interventions group receives feedback from the current connectivity between ACC and vStr.
Group 2: The control group receives feedback from another person (yoked sham feedback).

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Age: 18 - 55 years, - good knowledge of German - affected by a psychiatric illness requiring psychiatric treatment (a primary diagnosis of an obsessive-compulsive disorder is not required) - currently under treatment for obsessive thoughts and/or actions - Y-BOCS Score = 16 - Stable treatment regime at least four weeks before the start of the neurofeedback experiment
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Pregnancy or lactation, - Contraindications - also relative- to MR examinations such as magnetic metal implants, large tattoos or claustrophobia, - non-existent or limited ability of the participant to give consent, - Drug addiction, - acute conditions requiring inpatient treatment.
