Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: General: > 60 years of age, (corrected) hearing and vision, fluent German skills & German schooling, informed consent, voluntary participation, stable health status (i.e., able to undergo the entire testing, comorbidities may be present but do not affect test performance), permission to ask a caregiver to verify patients rating on the occurrence of ADL problems; Elderly control group: Normal cognition (MoCA > 25); Parkinson patients: diagnosed idiopathic Parkinson's syndrome; Parkinson normal cognition: Normal cognition according to MDS Task Force level I diagnosis guidelines (e.g. MoCA = 26); Parkinson mild cognitive impairment: Mild cognitive impairment according to MDS Task Force level I diagnosis guidelines and diagnostic cut-off point based on Hoops et al. (26 > MoCA > 18)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: General: Further neurological diseases impacting the central nervous system, (History of) substance abuse except for nicotine, BDI-II-Score = 20 indicating major depression, Delirium or acute psychosis, Intake of anti-dementia drugs; Parkinson patients: Severe impulse control disorder, Dopamine dysregulation syndrome interacting with the patient’s everyday life; Parkinson normal cognition: Diagnosis of cognitive impairment (mild cognitive impairment or dementia); Parkinson mild cognitive impairment: diagnosis of dementia

Sample characterization based on sociodemographic (age, gender, education years, handedness, mother tongue, employment, experience with mathematics, income, mathematical interests, self-rated mathematical skill) and clinical (diagnosis, age of disease onset, medication against depression and cognitive impairment, Levodopa equivalence dose, UPDRS-III, UPDRS-IV, Hoehn & Yahr stage) variables. Dependant variables: sumscores and reaction times for transcoding (paper-and-pencil test), number line estimation (computerized test), symbolic magnitude comparison (computerized test), non-symbolic magnitude comparison (computerized test), addition (computerized test), subtraction (computerized test), multiplication (computerized test), division (computerized test); numerical effects: carry-/ borrow-effect (addition, subtraction), problemsize effect (multiplication, division), unit-decade-compatibility effect & distance effect (symbolic magnitude comparison), Weber fraction (non-symbolic magnitude comparison); categorization of probable error types; Association of numerical measures and further cognitive outcomes (Testbatterie zur Aufmerksamkeitsprüfung "Go/ no go" and "Alertness", letter span backwards, Corsi Block-Tapping Test, Verbaler Lern- und Merkfähigkeitstest, WAIS-IV Subtest "Similarities", Benton Line Orientation Test)
