Interventions

Group 1: Patients undergoing elective surgery will be assessed for known PONV risk factors, such as Apfel score, age and duration of anesthesia, and also an rs2165870 SNP and an rs349358 SNP. A preope

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Which factors (genetic factors: CHRM3 rs2165870 and the KCNB2 rs349358, factors of the Apfel score, age and length of anaesthesia) can best predict PONV incidence at different points in time (recovery room, 2-6 hours and 6-24 hours)?

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Can the association of further SNPs with PONV be confirmed?
