Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children between the ages of 0 and 14 years with the diagnosis of epilepsy who underwent a video electroencephalogram monitoring at the Freiburg Epilepsy Center from 1999 to 2018 will be included. They must have suffered at least one attack during this period. Furthermore, the examined patients had to have recorded at least a ten-minute interictal period before the analyzed seizure in order to obtain a meaningful measurement of the basal heart rate.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria include video electroencephalogram monitoring over the age of 14 years, the occurrence of no or only subclinical seizures and a diagnosed cardiopathy.
